Inshore Multi Species Update from Captain Ryan Tyler
Roanoke Sound - Dare, NC
The local waters around Wanchese have remained productive this week, providing consistent multi-species action for our recent groups. We are seeing a steady bite in the sound and around the marsh edges, making it an ideal time for those interested in Wanchese red drum fishing. These fish are moving through the shallow flats, responding well to both live bait and artificial lures.
Our Wanchese speckled trout fishing charter outings have also been successful, with many guests reaching their limits early in the day. Along with the trout, we are encountering plenty of bluefish and the occasional Spanish mackerel near the inlets. The high catch-rate trips we’ve seen lately are perfect for families looking to keep the rods bending.
As we move into the Wanchese NC summer fishing charters season, the variety of species continues to expand. The light tackle fishing has been very beginner-friendly, allowing younger anglers to land their first big catch. We are currently seeing a mix of:
Red Drum: Schools are active on the flats and near structure.
Speckled Trout: Consistent numbers found in deeper holes during the tide changes.
Bluefish: Aggressive surface bites during our nearshore runs.
Bottom Fish: Sea mullet and croaker are providing steady fun for the kids.
Conditions are looking favorable for the upcoming week. If you are looking for an Outer Banks inshore fishing experience, now is a great time to get on the water. Whether you choose a Wanchese half day fishing charter or a full day of exploring, the fish are definitely biting.
